Design and Development
A marriage of form and function
The design results from combining our thoughts with yours. We talk with you - at length. We tell you what we think we heard to be sure we understand your vision, requirements, and design preferences. We then recommend design points and an overall concept. Our proposals are never canned - they are customized to you and always explain in detail our plan of attack and pricing detail.
The design of your website says who you are to a world that, like it or not, is internet based. Whether small business or large, your topic, message of value, integrity, and interest must be immediately apparent. Otherwise, people will not come and people will not stay -- nor return.
Our designs are not just "pretty faces". We place equal priority on each of the three key attributes of a successful site:
- What is presented
- How it is organized
- How the visitor interacts with it
Our design strength comes from the breadth of our skills. We are as capable of building a complex database driven site as we are a site where graphics and animation are key priorities. Thus one does not trump the other - Form and Function find an easy marriage.
The Second Street Touch
- In a world on overload, clean and simple often carries the day.
- Build from the outside in. Though we understand the guts of complex systems, we always start with the user interface and then work our way in. Because users are involved in the upfront process and the desired end result understood early on, our designs withstand the test of time.
- Keep the dialogue fluid. We avoid major "unveilings". Our clients have easy access to sites as they are developed.
