SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND

We listen to you talk about your needs, business problems, and vision. From this we produce a requirements document. Together we review this and insure that we have a common understanding of what problems are trying to be solved. (Sample requirements documents are available on request.)

SOLIDIFY WITH SOMETHING THEY CAN SEE

As soon as the requirements begin to solidify we do rapid prototyped. The entire application is prototyped within a very short period of time, and prior to ANY application programming. This allows the client to match the application to the requirements as well as his current business process.

We do this for 2 reasons:

• BUILD FROM THE OUTSIDE IN. In the end, the user interface is the most important aspect of any product. If the tool is difficult to use, no matter how elegant it's technical underpinnings are - it fails in its purpose. Words on a page are abstract; screens allow clients to envision the end product.
• PROTOTYPES ARE CHEAP, the development cost is minimal. Application programming takes time. Validating the concept with prototypes inevitably saves development time and money.

KEEP THE PROJECT VISIBLE

Throughout the development process, the application is internet accessible. There is no "I wonder where they stand". As portions complete, they are made available for your review. We firmly believe that a shift in concept understood at Step 1, may have a rippling effect on the project. We therefore want and encourage client participation throughout the development process.

WEB APPLICATIONS DEVELOPED BY SECOND STREET:

• www.analyticalinvesting.com: An application that allows subscribers to research recommended stocks. This application includes an e-commerce interface to Authorizenet.
• Dynamic Site Builder: This application rotates the graphical theme each time the site is visited. The database contains information about the different graphical themes as well as a database of quotes.
• www.AleciaCares.com: The realtor is able to define listings, room sizes, and upload photographs. Listing pages are automatically generated from this information.
